Frequently asked questions

Where is Colourful Minds located?

Colourful Minds is located in the Canterbury-Bankstown area. We offer a mobile service, where we visit our participants in their community (at home, school, or a park) to support them where they need it most. Our clinic is located at 2 Kent Street Belmore, 2192 NSW, on the corner of Kent Street and Leylands Parade. It is on the ground floor. Parking is available in front of the clinic (when available), and there is also free street parking.

How can therapy help our family?

Behaviour therapy can help children and their families reduce behaviours of concern. Our behaviour therapists focus on a range of preventative strategies, assist with developing new skills, communicating needs, a safe place, advocating for your child and family, managing emotions and so much more. Behavioural therapy takes a collaborative approach by engaging and working with the family, their educators and other health professionals.

How frequently does therapy take place?

Therapy takes place fortnightly to provide ongoing support and allow time to apply strategies in between therapy. However, every family is unique, and therefore other arrangements are possible.

What should I do next?

If you feel therapy might be beneficial, contact us today. You don’t need a referral from a GP or paediatrician. We will discuss with you the best pathway, fees and other important information. After you submit your request and details, we send you more information in our Program Overview and the Client Intake Form. After you fill in your Client Intake Form, you will have your initial interview with your behaviour therapist to discuss goals for your child and yourself. After the initial interview, play-based therapy can start.

Which suburbs do behaviour specialists travel to?

Colourful Minds is a mobile service. Our behaviour therapists travel to suburbs in the Inner West, South West, North West, Central, Eastern Suburbs, South Sydney, and the Sutherland Shire. If you are unsure if we can travel to your suburb, send us a message. Families in other parts of Sydney, Australia, and the world can receive telehealth support.
