School support

School support
School can be a challenging environment for some children, especially when behavioural or learning difficulties arise. That’s why school visits can be an important part of your child’s support plan.
During a school visit, a Colourful Minds behaviour specialist works directly with your child, their teacher, and other school staff. The therapist observes your child in the classroom or playground setting, discusses current goals and challenges with the teacher, and gathers a clear understanding of the school-based behaviours. Based on these insights, we offer tailored strategies and practical advice to both teachers and families to create a consistent, supportive approach across home and school.
Ongoing school-based therapy may be an option if the school is open to it. This can include:
Regular monitoring and observation of your child’s behaviour and progress
In-class or playground support to help your child navigate challenges in real time
One-on-one therapy sessions at school to build skills in a familiar environment
Collaboration with teachers to adapt classroom strategies and learning supports
This approach helps ensure that your child is supported holistically, with open communication between home, school, and therapist. It also empowers teachers to better understand and respond to your child’s unique needs.
At Colourful Minds, we believe that flexible support leads to better outcomes. That’s why we offer a combination of services—whether in-home, in-clinic, at school, in the community, or via telehealth—tailored to what works best for your child and family.
